Does anyone know exactly how these fish are dyed?

Went to a pet shop the other day and purchased a blood parrot for £3.99 which they are normally £15 in the UK. Mind you the one I got was a light yellow with brown patches not really bright at all but I thought he was different they were also cream coloured bp with orange pink and blues on the side which were the normal price of a bp. I assume they were dyed as I've been looking on the internet and most sites say they are orange or red in colour, us this true or can you get more variations? If so what are the variations?

Purple Parrots at Wal-Mart?

I was disheartened to see "purple parrots" when I went to Wal-Mart last night. When I first got into fish, I purchased a dyed Parrot unknowingly, and will never do so again. Pico was a happy, healthy, and delightful little guy, but I was so upset by what he might have gone through to get his color. I don't purchase anything from stores that sell dyed fish because I feel it's the same as purchasing from pet stores that sell puppies and kittens. My local Wal-Mart has always sold Blood Parrots, but they recently re-did their whole store, including their aquarium section.

Have a 65 gallon tank that's had two silver danios for over a year, an upside-down catfish, a molly, and a couple of tetras for nearly that long. Put two parrot cichlids in Saturday night - they're about three inches long each. Water smelled on Tuesday and was cloudy; one of the tetras died during the day. The upside-down catfish died Tuesday night.

The water's not super-cloudy.

Was my older fish ever dyed?

So I currently have two adult parrots, one I bought and was assured it was not dyed, and I can tell that it was not. The other one I think was dyed at one time but I am not sure. This adult has what looks like dark red speckles in random places on her. The store owner told me he was not sure of this bps' age because he had a person come into the store with 40 parrots that were his personal collection and sold them to him! The store owner also received several red devil and Midas cichlids from him. I have a feeling the guy either bought all these parrots randomly, or he bred them??

This is so sad - I have a 60 gallon tank with my fish for over a year and put a new canister filter in on Sunday night. By Wednesday 6 out of 8 adult parrot fish and 15 molly fish were dead. I pulled 2 adults Blood Parrot fish out and put them in another tank 30 gal. The 1 female is so sick laying on her side, will not eat seems to gasping for air. The other one is trying to help her and nudges her to keep moving. I have never seen anything so sad. Everything was fine until the new canister filter went in.

Hello,
I know that this isn't condonable, but I have 2 blue parrots and 2 purple parrots, I bought these before I was aware of the injecting, and it is my fault as I didnt fully do my research, but I absolutly love them, and think they all look really good together!
The 2 purples are: Dockerty, and Geldof
The 2 Blues are: Odeon, and Baloo
The 2 Oranges are: Alfonzo, and Apu

Hello,
Im new to the Parrot cichlid world, I keep cichlids, and have done for a year or so, I have recently purchased a few parrots, I brought 2 orange about a month ago, they settled in well, and now I have purchased 2 blue ones, I just want to know if there is anyway I can tell if they have been injected with dye, and if they have will this become a problem?
Before purchasing I spoke to the owner of the shop, and they told me they do not purchase any injected parrot's to their knowledge.
