100GAL AQUAGIANT TANK .............BOUGHT USED WITH 4-5" PARROTS,2 PLECOS,2 RAINBOW SHARKS(GAVE 1 AWAY) FOR 400.00
AND JUST ADDED 2 JUVENILLE SEVERUMS
I'VE READ A BUNCH ON THE NET ABOUT FILTERS !
WONDERING WHAT FILTERS WORK THE BEST?
MY TANK IS A 100GAL
Question
If I clean tank and replace the water, can I use warm water from my tap? I use tap water with chemicals anyway, but does it make a difference if I use a little bit of warm, so my fish dont get cold when I add in the water?
This my blood Parrot in a 55 gallon. I bought him In this large adult size. he was in a im gonna say 75 to 120 gal with some large oscars. red devils, green severum. and a few other varities of cichlids. all getting along comfortably. I jusu passed through the gallery and noticed a few tanks with some fairly large parrots in small settings. If your going to house large fish, they should be in large set ups.
I am getting a new 55 gallon tank for my fish. My parrot fish is about 2 1/2 years old. How do I make the transition less stressful for my fish.
Ok so the title pretty much says it all. I just bought 3 parrots about and inch and a half long and 2 other cichlids that I cant remember the name of now lol. They are blue with orange fins... Anyways, I have an Aquaclear filter and all 5 fish are fascinated by it and insist on hanging around it. Within 10 minutes of being in the tank I already had to unplug the filter for a second because one of the parrots was stuck to it. I am a new fish owner so what do I know, but Im gonna throw it out there and assume this is a very bad thing!
I have a 75 gallon that I just set up 3 days ago. As Im waiting for it to be ready Im trying to decide what kind of fish I want. I have definitely settled on at least 2 parrots and my local pet store has them but they are only an inch or so long at the moment. I know they do grow but what Im wondering is, if I was to get 3, once they are full size will my tank be to small? And I would like to get another type of fish as well but Im not sure which one works best with the parrots.. any suggestions?
Ok I am going out this weekend and buying a 75 gallon tank. I would like to use a cycling prodect to help get it started. I tried Nutrafin Cycle and that was crap, wasted $25 there. I was thinking of trying Tetra SafeStart? Any ideas on which would be good?
Ok so my bumped my power plug last night and the heater and air pump turned off. I relized it this morning and turned them back on, the temp was 72F. Well it has been about 3 1/2 hours and the temp is idling at 74F. Is there something I need to do to get it to rise? I have the Tetra adjustable submersable hearter 30 - 60 gallon. I have the temp switch as high as it will go but it is still at 74F and the little lgiht is off. Do I need to unplug it then turn the stiych down, then plug it back in and then gradually turn it back up?
