Describe your Parrots

Pumpkin & Gord

I just got 2 very large Blood Parrots. They were in a 20 gallon with 4 other fish.. two 6 inch cichlids and two slightly smaller ones...  I now how them in a 55 gallon with like 12 other juvenile cichlids.   They seem to love my kids and chase them back and forth along the glass :)  Just wondering if there's a specific set up they should have in the tank or if they just need decent hiding spaces?  I cant find to much about them online..

I want to do a progression of photos as they grow.

My lil parrots...I think they're fighting, but not sure...

So I just bought 2 new BP and have had them for a week. One is dark brown and the other is orange with black spots.  They are about 1.5-2 inches long. The brown one continually butts into the orange one (both of which are thus far nameless). I have read that the black spots may be due to stress. I'm hoping someone might know what I should do.  They are in a 30 gal high tank with 3 baby tiger barbs, 5 Rosy Red minnows and a crayfish my daughter got from her school science teacher. They have plenty of hiding spots, live plants and a 45 gal power filter.

Hi everyone. I am new to Parrot cichlids, I used to have some South American Firemouths. I just got a new tank and decided to put a tank together. First let me begin by describing my setupI have a 20 gallon tall and I have 2 Parrots, 5 giant danios, 4 fiddler crabs, 1 gourami and a platy. I have a tetra filter hanging on the back that is oversized, (for a 40-60g tank), 2 live plants and a couple of plastic one. I had trouble putting pictures in the post so I attached them.

Update on my Kirin Parrots

Gave them the 55g to themselves for now.

My baby Bubbles

Ive had him for over a month now, he is still pretty young but a very happy....loves to hide in his skull..

I Didnt know about thier policies on dyed fish at the pet store, so after doin my research ive found out he is dyed :( but it looks like he is already loosing the coloring, if you notice he is pretty 'Blue' in his first picture and has gradually gotten paler, i just hope he can live a long happy life after goin through so much.

Elvis, OB1 and Guedo Parrot Ciclids with attitude

I have two Red Parrot Cichlids and a Jelly Bean Cichlid.

The two Red Parrots are approx. 8 inches long and are I must say the feature fish in the tanks.

I have to admitt however the Jelly Bean dispite its 3 inch size is the true boss in his tank. He pushes everyone around to include a 11 inch Rino Pleco. He is a real chuckle and since adding him to the tank he has brought a lot of dimension to it. He started out purple but has lost that rediculous color and is his normal beautiful white.
