Hi folks!

I just purchased six Parrots at my LFS. The store is called Aquatic Environments.  Three are a light orange and three are a light blue, but the store told me that they will all turn red later on. They are all about two and a half inches long, kinda big for being newly aquired. I just added them to my 60 gallon tank and there are no other fish in the tank.  I will not be adding anything else because with six of these, I'm easily at my tanks capacity. But, I do have excellent filtration and circulation so I believe I'm good.  I'm very pleased so far!

parrot fish male or female

hi

i have two parrot fish i think they are king kong parrot fish One is of Yelow colour and other one change coloue some it look yellow and some some time light pink.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum the new addition

I just purchased 2 BP's to house with my juvenile pink convicts. A few years ago I had a pair of BP's and they were a little shy. If you sat with them for a while they would come out, but they were frightened by movement, part of this was I was guilty of having them in a smaller tank than they would have preferred, but they lived out a good 6 or 7 years. These two parrots I have now, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, because of their attachment to each other are very friendly fish. They have also helped my little convicts to come out and be more friendly.

ann and davis new bps

I havev 2 new bps with a firemouth two silver dolars and a featherfin catfish i named the bps david and ann after my middle name and my gfs middle name they are both 1-2 inches red and black not full colors yet

Beginning of an awesome fish

Just bought my first Blood Parrot and I am really excited!!! I have always loved Cichlids and since I first seen a parrot I have wanted one or maybe 2 later on... I have had convicts and pinks that were paired up and loved to watch them build there nests and co exist!! They are so fun!! Anyways this is my first Blood Parrot and I didnt really know alot about them till I figured I had better learn something and looked them up online. I have a 35 ga show tank not a very complex setup, I like to keep it pretty simple.

Blue eyed parrot

Hi! I am new to this site but have had parrots for almost 2 years. My question is my larger parrot Happy has blue eyes, has anyone else ever run into this variation? He's pretty unique looking (and cute!). Can't seem to attach any pictures right now but I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

My favorite fish

The information out there about blood parrots is terrible and most of it untrue.  They swim and eat just fine.  They form strong family bonds and should be with several of their own or with other mild cichlids or even larger community fish.  Do not put them with aggressive fish because they can not defend themselves against strong biters.
