Hi! I purchased a parrot cichild last month on the 15 along with a bala shark. Well the bala shark died. It stopped eating. Let me say this is my first time having any kind of animal or pet. I didn't know that 1 fish had to be in a 30 gallon tank? Do I have a few days to work on buying this 30 gallon tank? Any who my cichild has been in the 5 gallon tank alone. Just recently she has started displaying black spots. I don't want my fish to die. I feed her tropical fish flakes. I don't know what to do? Oh yea I checked the ph level and its 7.5 my water temp is between 76-78.
ok, i have 3 beautiful parrots, one male and 2 females. I have had many species of fish over the years but 2 huge parrots at a pet store of course caught my eye, they were a pink not orange and so clumsy and funny to watch, thats when I fell in love with them!! Their my water puppies, I have them hand tamed to actually come into my hand to be gently petted and played with. My daughter and husband could not believe how tame and lovable they are. Anyway I just want to make sure i'm right, but every month the spawn and lay eggs and have their own caves of sandstone
after the shocking few days i have had with my fish finally i feel safe to say he is going to be ok.
I just got 2 blood parrots for my daughter for Christmas and one has black spots. One is a long black line. When should the black spots go away? I bought them at PetSmart and they had them in with the convict cichlids.

I have a tank approximately 70 gallons. Had two larger parrots and recently added six smallparrots and eighter small other fish. The two larger parrots had black marks prior to adding the other fish but now its getting worse. One has marks all over the fins, tail, and the under body. Both fish have been staying at the top of the tank with about a quarter inch of their body above the water. The other has some marks on the underbody. Water pH is 7.0 and ammonia level is 0. What should I do?
I'm new here and new to BP's. I am an experienced fish keeper. Basically a few weeks ago, I inherited Jumbo. A lady was selling her BP's are Craigslist and a friend picked them up after he saw their conditions. The water was room temp- so only about 70 degrees if that. The tank was too small for the BP's my friend said. So I took him and quarantined him and he came around- ate well and loved the clean warm water. He's about six inches. I took him out of quarantine and put him in my 90 with my baby BP Lumpy.
My tank has been getting green spots on the inside I scrubbed my tank and they keep returning, I vacuumed and did 5o% water change...now my BP has black or dark green spots on him. What do I do? I have a PH tester and I tested and its the highest level, if that matters, how can I fix this and how do I fix my fish?? THANKS :-/
I need help,my parrot fish is all of a sudden started getting black lines on her fin and the water always looks yellow, we are putting in the right chemicals (Easy Balance & Aqua Safe).
I Put the easy balance in on a Wednesday and the Aqua safe in on a Saturday. Thanks for your help :)
I am wondering if anyone has experience with Parrots turning black? My Parrot's scales suddenly started turning black and it is also around her mouth. I did a water change yesterday but does not seem to have helped. She is also acting very mellow compared to normal. Thanks to anyone with any ideas or advice
