I am looking at options on what to put in with our 2 BP's and Kribensis. We are considering either of the following:
2 Cobalt blue
Out of the above from your own experiences which mixes the best? Or other options (no oscars - sorry they dont appeal to me). I am not a novice at this hobby so easy kept fish are not a priority. Tank size is not an issue.
I have 2 red BP's, 2 Bala Sharks, 2 Silver Dollars, 2 Gourami's and 2 Albino sharks in my tank.
One of the BP is around 5-6 inches and the other is arnd 3.5-4 inches.
The alibino's are arnd 2.5-3 inches.
They have all been in the tank for around 6 months and getting along fine.
However today morning I found one of the albino sharks missing! I had noticed that it was sluggish for the past 2-3 days. But today it is nowhere to be seen in the tank!
Any idea as to what might have happened to it? There is no signs of fights, bad smell, blood or anything.
I have 2 BPs right now in a 90 gallon tank the are about 3-4inches each and i want to get 2 more but all the ones i see are the little babies can thoes go with mine or do i have to get more the same size and i will just have to look harder thanks
I have recently placed two 4-inch red/orange parrots into a fully cycled 38-gallon (36L x 12W x 19H) tank with no other residents but 5 bloodfin tetras as dither fish. The parrots are active and appear to be doing well and will be transferred to a 55-gallon tank after they grow a little larger. I am considering adding a 4-inch angelfish (P. scalare) to the 38-gallon tank but I am reluctant to do so because the parrots may be too aggressive toward it. Would it be too dangerous to place the angelfish in with the parrots? Would you place ANY other fish in with the parrots?
i recently got 2 new short body flowerhorns. they have eaten up my angel fishes. they are too small in front of parrot and parrot easily scares them off. i am afraid if they would attack parrot when they grow up. they are a brred of parrot fish but then too i m not sure. should i keep them or not. just now they are ok with parrot and parrot is ruling the tank. i just want advice on what to do. i am also planning to get 4 severums in my tank. may i get them ?
I have had my BP for a little over 4 years now.. It was love at first sight I never saw a fish that caught my eye so quickly. I bought him (Stewart) for my mother without knowing anything about the breed and he ended up eating many of my moms smaller fish so she couldn't keep him. I went and bought a fish tank for my appartment and took him myself. He seems really happy and for the most part his color is bright orange but now and then he gets a bit pale (I think its when he is bored).
I recently had my 2 older BP die and i have 2 left that are about a year old. I can tell they are sad and they have that angry black color they get when ever i change anything in the tank. They died about a week ago and i was wondering if i should get new tank mates for them? i have the room for 2 more in my tank and i was wondering do they want new tank mates or would they rather it just be the 2 of them? They are fighting a little bit but it stoped. The 2 that died were the "alpha" and i think they were just trying to figure out who was in charge.
I just bought a type of cichild that can go with my BPs it was with some in the store and the privitly owned store has an owner i trust with my fish and i just got these fish and got them home and i forgot what they ar called. They are a greyish color the normal cihclid chape they have some hard to see stipes(its not a convict). They are smaller right now but will be 6-8 inches when full grown like normal cichlids.
Intend setting up Aquaone 980 215litre tank with wet and dry filter - dimentions approx 39"x24"x18")
How many Blood Parrots could be kept in this size and what about other species to keep with them ?
