Blood Parrot has a raised red area with white on top and one cheek looks inflamed

Hi,

My Blood Parrots have been disease-free for 5+ years until last week when my tank sprung a leak and I had to
move them in to a new tank urgently. I took as many precautions as possible by re-using the same filters (which I had kept wet etc.)
I kept the majority of the original tank water etc. and thought everything was going well.

Until this week when the smaller of the two developed a red raised area, about 5mm wide and 3-4mm high. It's red with a small
puff of white on the top. It's where the "nostril" is, for a better description. I assumed it was one of the Clown Loaches had bit
him maybe and it got infected, but I'm not sure now.

His entire right cheek looks inflamed. He's feeling a bit sorry for himself, but is still eating luckily for now. I've been using Myaxzin for the past few days but it's not gone down at all. I really don't know what it is, so it's difficult to treat it. I'll try to get a picture, but if anyone can help the little guy, I'd be forever grateful!!!

Cotton Wool Disease

Cotton wool disease is a fairly easy condition to diagnose because it manifests in the form of fuzzy white growths on the head, fins and scales of infected cichlids. This disease is caused by a fungus that is naturally found in the aquarium but only becomes a problem in cases of poor water quality. When uneaten fish food and other organic debris accumulates in the tank and the water quality declines, fish are more likely to succumb to fungal infections like cotton wool disease. Stress and prior injury may also increase the susceptibility of cichlids to fungal infections. The most common treatment for this disease is an antifungal medication or a salt bath.

Question?

Can antifungal medication be treated with other fish in the tank or I have to put him in another one? I dont know if he can take moving and stress and all of this. He is very old. More than 10 years old.

Hi,

My 10 Year old had same spots about 3 month ago, they looked like that, then became into sort of pimples, then they poped and white hair started coming out. He is doing fine, eating, swimming, digging but its getting worse and worse. They are getting bigger. I also dont know what to do. Never seen this before.
