I have him alredy 1 month, he is 4in, and I am afraid to give him too much or too little, I feed him with pellets, those that floats,( I guess they have air inside) so the pellets don't sink in the bottom, 10 or 15 a day... is it ok????
You should feed you parrot as much as he'll eat in about five minutes. Giviing a variety of food is also a good idea. Frozen cubes of blood worms, krill, etc. I've read to avoid tubifex worms because they often come from polluted sources. Earthworms are always enjoyed as long as they are taken from an area without chemicals, pesticides. Gross but good.
An important part of your parrots is roughage in the form of peas. Take the pea out of the shell and chop it into bite size pieces. These should be fed once or twice a week.
Do some more reading on this site for more ideas. I'm hoping that your guy is in an aquarium of at least thirty gallons. Research is important.
Blood Parrots like having little "dither-fish" around. They probably figure that as long as the little schooling fish aren't scared, there are no threats. Read on for more...
