I have four fishparrots as I like to call them, not sure if they are male or female but I can say that these fish stole my heart! I have a 55 gl. tank with 2 silver dollars a tinfoil barb couple of tiger barbs a pleco 3 other beautiful fish that Im not sure what they are exactly due to a mix up with the fish stores labeling of their tanks but they resemble kribensis a giant danio and a turquoise danio 17 fish in all. My beautiful parrots are charismatic, friendly, curious, trusting fish that arent afraid to throw their weight around when it comes time to eat! One morning I went to the tank to find 2 of my parrots squeezed in this tight space together underneath this little cave like rock formation I made for them. It was like a husband and wife sharing a bed together, I would say that only 1 of my parrots could fit in this space but to find two of them jammed in there together was such a beautiful sight to see, my at times overly emotional wife almost cried they were so cute!!! I love these guys like I love my dog.

Flowerhorns must be kept
Flowerhorns must be kept singly. Cichlids generally get more aggressive as they mature.
No, not so much work. It's kind of like when I'm at a party talking with someone and hope the other person doesn't question me because I just said everthing I know. Yikes. I'm relatively new at fishkeeping. The mentioned fish are ones I've been interested in. Reading, research is always encouraged.
I love hearing others' comments and experiences.
Your aquarium is very
Your aquarium is very overstocked, an easy mistake when confronted with immature fish without having done any research. The size of your tank is adequate for the parrots and some small dither fish. Cichlids need double filtration so your system should be for one hundred ten gallons and fifty percent water changes weekly. Off the top of my head, the pleco can grow to three feet and the tinfoil barbs to a foot. The tiger and tinfoil barbs are schooling fish that need to be kept in groups of six or more. The pleco is intolerant of other plecos.
Your parrots should each have a cave. They are not snuggling for emotional closeness.
I hope that your enthusiasm and love for these fish will lead you to more reading on their needs. They are wonderful! A lot of information is contained on this site as well as other fish forums. I'm constantly learning and making (oh hell!) mistakes along the way. Good luck!
Wow it sounds like you have
Wow it sounds like you have done some work.
I am trying to decide on the best tank mates for my bp. She is currently with a orange shoulder severum. They get along great and they are in a 75 gallon tank.
I used to have a electric blue jack dempsey but he died after 4 years of having him. I beleive bloat may have done him in.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Some one suggested to me a flower horn or a fire mouth but that is way off my knowlegde base at this time.
