pale parrot?

i was just wondering about my bigger parrot Sun. hes much more pale than his smaller friend. i was wondering if there might b something wrong or if its normal? there in a 55 gallon tank, with 9 tetras and an algea eater. and hes about 3-31/2 in from nose to end of fin. he is just as active as the other,he runs the tank, and they get a varied diet of pellet and flakes. they also get snacks of bloodworms and brine shrimp, and shelled peas about once or twice a week. i also do weekly water changes, and the temp is at 82 just to give u all the info :) any ideas?

pale parrot

my General Fin has gone paler as he got older, sounds like you take good care of him, there are other conditions that cause colour reduction, such as parasites, has he got drooping fins or a hollow belly, or is he rubbing on decor, or stress, such as new tank mates, poor water, added or removed decor, or large water changes, changes of any sort recently,or, has he gone paler just recently or has it been gradual since you got him,(I,m thinking he was maybe dyed and is reverting back to his more natural pale colour,if you cant think of anything and as long as he is eating and swimming i wouldn't bother too much, but continue to watch carefully

re:pale parrot

well there has been some tetras added lately and some decor moved around, but this has definitly been a gradual thing. he may have always been paler than his smaller friend, but i just lately really noticed. his fins and belly look normal, and water quality is good. i do weekly changes ( about 10-15%), but sometimes both of them rub on things. nothing out of the ordinary on there bodies, and hes never been under to much stress, he knows hes king of the tank :). i dont know what to think, maybe its normal its not like hes white or anything just not as orange as my little tangerine. what does it mean if they rub on things though?

same thing in my tank

my largest, oldest, (5 years) kong has turned light salmon pink...it's behaviour is normal, the tank is healthy, good ph, 80degrees, water circulation, no toxic nitrates/nitrites or ammonia....
I feed a good quality, parrot specific food......spoke w/the aquarium I purchased him , ( & all my parrots) from: " sometimes as parrots get older, the pigment changes". I know this happens in koi but never heard this happen w/parrots.

any help out there?

thanks parrot heads....
