Im back :)

Sorry ive been gone for so long guys. i was unable to get online because my computer was
broken. My parrots are doing great! theyve grown alot. my biggest is at least 8 inches now!
ive also upgraded to a 150 gallon tank and added more fish. i added 2 clown loaches and 3 I.D sharks. i know that they will eventually get too big but ill deal with that problem when it come by. right now i have a problem to deal with. As I told, i upgraded my tank. but when i upgraded. i tried to add some 'dither' fish to the tank. i tried black skirt tetras, zebra danios and pristella tetras but my parrots ate all of them! :O in my last tank i had the same parrots in a tank with red nose tetras but they past away sadly. i knew i was getting  a new tank so i didnt get anymore tetras. it was about two weeks later that i put my parrots in the new tank. i then tried 'dither' fish again. but no. the parrots didnt want them in there. the rest of the fish seemed to not care at all about them when i added them to the tank.but as soon as my parrots came out of theyre caves and saw the little fish. they were fish food :'( any thoughts?

pirahnas.

Re: Re: Im back :)

just kidding. are your parrots male or female? female parrots will breed with almost any male NW cichlid. Green texas is my vote. carpintis they are not as aggressive as regular texas and they are MUCH prettier. they make good looking babies wth parrots too. in a 150, you have alot of options though. you could pull of a community cichl;id tank with medium sized cichlids i.e. (jack dempseys, firemouths, texas, green texas, jelly beans, or any number of similar sized fish with similar temperment. just get alot of plants, make sure they each have a territory, and keep the tank temp below 80 and you should be able to keep the aggression down. also when adding fish, add alot of fish at once and rearrange the tank right before you add them. i feed at the same time so the new fish have a chance to acclimate before the older fish start bothering them. BTW welcome back. i haven't been on much either.

Re: Re: Re: Im back :)

im almost certain that i have 2 females and 1 male. and i dont plan on getting any more cichlids as i already have a few of my own. id like to add some fish that are constantly moving like tetras or something but that doesnt seem do work. my I.D sharks move alot... but they stay at the bottom of the tank and just try and get the parrots to chase them :P

Re: Im back :)

what about something bigger like giant danios or congo tetras

Re: Re: Im back :)
