Re: will that die ?
Yes,, and lack of hiding place also can cause stress to BP. Keep in mind that causing shocks to fish (even by your swift movements or disturbing them by putting hands/tools in water very often) very much menas that you are stressing them. When they are stressed they will be more prone to diseases because their immunity level drastically drops down. A disease that can easily catch them when they are stressed is ICK or ICH. If not detected and treated early it can cause even death very quickly. So keep in mind - Prevention is always better. AVOID STRESS completely,, because healthy fish always means happy owners :)

Thanks,,
The one you saw is a 100 gallon tank. I have a total of 13 BPs in there,, of which 7 are babies (they are no more babies,, they grew up,, but i still like to call them babies). However, as and when they grow up i will move some of them to another tank.
stress
alot of fish dye from stress.stress could be cause by adding new fish to the tank, being picked on or not having the proper tank setup. the proper setup for parrot cichlids are lots of caves and at least 4 in" of gravel(some might say differently with the gravel but i have 4 in" of gravel in my tank and it works out good)
