Not eating.

Ok I have only had my BP a couple of days still but how do I get it to eat? I mean it won't come out at feeding time and the pellets just sink to the bottom so how do I get it to eat if it still hides during feeding time?

Re: Not eating.

Well I have tried peas, bloodworms, cichlid sticks, cichlid pellets, shrimp but it just hides in the cave even if I leave the room. I tried hand feeding but it is still really skittish and runs from one cave to another when I try handfeeding. I have only had him 3 days so he still is terrified of me.

time

well if you've only had in your tank for three days this is a normal thing that happen to my first parrot(annie)it took her a week to get used to the tank but i have heard some parrots take a whole month or 2 to get used to their tank.so i can tell you is that only time can tell.just wait and see he will get used to you.

Re: time

Alright thanks. He was out of the cave all day today and ate when the other fish ate so that's good. The only time he hid today was when my dogs would rush into the room.

Re:Not eating

you could try feeding him different foods(frozen bloodworms, deshelled peas etc.)you could also try to hand feed him.
