salt
be careful how much salt (aquarium or kosher not table salt) you add if you have scaleless fish in your tank. they all have a low tolerance for salt. plecos and catfish are examples. if you do have a pleco or catfish, you could take a gallon of water from your aquarium into a bucket and add a tablespoon of salt (per gallon if you use a bigger container), then you put your fish in the bucket for 10 to 30 minutes then put him or her back in the tank. don't dump the water back in your tank. if you don't have any scaleless fish, you can add one teaspoon per gallon into your tank. some of the treatments will kill off your bio filter, so try to use them in a hospital tank if something develops.
Re: Missing Fin!
I am already starting treatment to prevent any complications. I am sure he had a fin to begin with. I do have one that was born with only 1 fin he gets around slower but still gets around. They were in a 40 gallon recently then I was given a 55 gallon so I moved them there and since then they avoid each other like the plague where as they used to share a cave in the smaller tank. But now 1 is in the 55 gallon and the one with the missing fin is in the 40 gallon.
missing fin
Its likely that fighting has caused this (as long as your sure it was there in the first place) is your tank big enough and are there hiding places, missing fins usually do grow back, just watch for any signs of infection (as you would if you had a cut) and do water changes and add stress coat to help
