salt

someone who recently was doing 30% water changes daily to improve the health of their fish, asked whether they should add salt each time to the new water, the answer I think is no, because as water evaporates it leaves salt behind, it would become too concentrated, a little AQUARIUM salt is beneficial, I add a tablespoon to say 40 galls every six months, anyone else use it routinely?

Re: salt

I have used aquarium salt in both of my fish tanks since the beginning. I use half the dosage that is listed on the box. I only add new salt with each water change since the salt doesn't filter out. I have seen no adverse effects on my bp's. They both have very bright orange coloring and are very healthy and happy.

salt

i add a tablespoon when i'm treating a tank.i only add aquarium salt in my sailfin mollies tank (which is a 20 gal) regaly and i only add a TEAspoon a month and they seem to like it... but i never put aquarium salt in my parrot cichlid tank.i added some in the hospital tank that annie and mickey are in.
