oh i think i saw some of those painted white skirt tetras. there was blue and pink ones. blue was called blueberry skirt tetra and the pink was called strawberry skirt tetras.they were at pet centra and the guy told me that they are bred that way. i guess he knows nothing about fish...
dyed fish
My fish shop has a book full of fish from the wholesalers ,which has absolutely loads of pictures of fish(glass fish danios. parrots,in fact almost any fish might be dyed) crossed out as he will not sell dyed,or tattooed fish

That is really good! More pet shops should do that. My two BPs are lipstick parrots and they are beautiful, but I didn't buy them and would have never bought them because of their tattoos. THe only reason that I have them is they were given to me as a gift. I can't stand the thought of them being died.
They do the same thing with hermit crabs. I also keep them and you must watch which stores you buy from because most only paint the crab a color and then it dies from ink poisoning about two weeks after!
dyed fish
yes they dye white skirt tetras too. they tattoo parrots too. lipstick parrots and they tattoo stripes on them. they look horrible. even if it wasn't cruel, it doesn't even look like anything i would ever buy
