After almost 5 long years with my favorite parrot Rosie passed away of causes unknown. I bought her from a fish store that had her in a large tank with fire mouth piranhas. She had been ridden with Ick and very sick when I bought her. I nursed her back to health and she lived a great life in a 55 gal. with her other smaller parrots. I awoke one morning to find her belly up! I tested the water and other than a slightly higher ammonia level.. everything was in normal range. I had a UV filter on the tank as well... she lived 5 years with me and I assumed she just got old and something happened during the night. She didn't have any signs on ick or any other parasite... I will never really know what happened... She was a wonderful Parrot, always a great personality... she loved coming to the glass and being a show off when she knew someone was watching. She use to move the rocks all around the tank and if she didn't like where a plant or statue was in the tank.... it was always found moved or floating at the top. It makes me laugh sometimes, how she would rearrange or "redecorate" her home.
