A club for owners of Parrot Cichlids

can someone plaese tell me the normal level of nitrate , ph , nitrite, hardness , alkalinity ? i really need to know now my fish are not acting normal please any advice ?

i wanted to know if res blood parrot fish can get stress and if they do will that die from stress ? i just wanted to know . what are the reasons they will die ? can they die from not having a hiding place ? again i just wanted to know ?

Ok don't mean to be a bother but I have another question lol. I was feeding my fish the last of the pellets this morning and noticed something odd about one of them. My smaller parrot has a missing fin! Not the tail fin but one of it's side fins don't know what they are called their 'arms' I guess. Will this grow back? I have him separated now in case it was from fighting.

I just ran out of cichlid pellets! I won't be able to get out to get more until Saturday and was wondering if I can feed any of the foods I have for my other fish. I have Blood worms, Betta pellets, tropical fish flakes, tropical fish discs, algae wafers, and baby gammarus shrimp. Will any of these foods work?

A lady gave me three jellybean parrots today. Two were a pair that had successfully mated several times earlier and a baby that didn't survive the ride home.

I have them with a heater, biological fitration system, and tank decor. Is there anything else that I will need to do so that they keep breeding in my tank.

hey i was just wondering if their was any other fish that are dyed other than parrots???

i bought my fish two weeks ago, ever since i put them in my tank they have been turning black and only swimming a little bit at the bottom of the tank. They never swim at the top to go eat or just swim around. I don't know what to do, i don't want them to die but something isn't right.. i neep help please!

I can see white spots on both my BPS. Their colour has also turned pale.

One of them is not eating and remains on the upper edge of the water always and is not moving around the tank.

Is it suffering from some disease or is it the water. I changed 25% of water in my tank yesterday. I feed them only blood worms.

Is something wrong? I am from India. So, please describe any medication for the BP in detail as all medications are not available in India.

hey guys.i just got ick in my tank and my pleco,my corycats and sugar just past away:(i took out annie and mickey out of the tank until i get things sorted out.they're in my 20 gal quarintin tank and are hiding and are all scared:(im very sad that sugar died.it was her second incounter with ick.when i bought her home she had ick and white spots and that's why i called her sugar. i buried her in my backyard...
