A club for owners of Parrot Cichlids

I only have one blood parrot named Eros and I have only had him for 2 days. A friend of mine bought him and realized he only had one pectoral fin and was going to flush him so I grabbed him up. Currently he lives in a 43 gallon tank with some neon tetras, dwarf gouramis and platies but he will be moving in with either some giant danios, black skirt tetras, or silver dollars when he gets bigger. Even though he is shy his curiosity about the other fish seem to be getting the best of him.

Guys, I dont know how to best describe my Parrots,, im just a hobbiest,, had been raising them for so long,, and just thought its time for me to share my exp. with you :)

hi guys. i got my tank settled from the ick i had and i put mickey and annie back in there. i have also added some red eye tetras and some cory cats.does anyone know anything about bumblebee gobies??? i read somewhere that they can be placed in freshwater tanks but do better in brakish tanks??? i saw some at a fish store and i really like them. i did ask the guy about them but he didn't know much about them?

WAS LOOKING FOR SOME INFO ON MY BP, FOUND THIS SITE AND STARTED READING EVERYONES STORIES, SUGGESTIONS, AND ONE THING FOR SURE EVERY ONE LOVES THEIR FISH, SO I WOULD FIT IN. I KNOW SO LITTLE ABOUT FISH IN GENERAL. I DID NOT WANT A CAT NOR DOG OR BIRD, SO WENT TO A LOCAL PET STORE. I SAW TWO OF THE CUTIEST FISH, SO I BOUGHT THEM WITH OUT KNOWING A THING ABOUT THEM. I HAVE HAD ROCKY AND IRAQI BOB FOR TWO YEARS NOW, ONE MALE AND ONE FEMALE. FRANKLY I FIND THEM ADDICTING.

ok so my friend took sparky and i just felt said about losing him so i went to a different petstore and got mickey the JBP.he's very little (1" or so) and is bright yellow.i know that its dyed and all but i also know that it will fade away into a beautiful orange:)Mickey surprisingly is nnot afraid of me and doesn't get pushed around by annie or sugar oh no he'll push them right back:)

I just found out sparky is a red devil :o!!!! i went back to my LFS where i got sparky and i was looking in the tank where all the BPs are and there was a red label that said red devils. he seems to like annie alot and doesn't go near sugar(eggs!) but does anyone think i should bring him back? will he ever harm my BPs???

today i went to the petstore to get a another BP and i never noticed till i got home that this parrot could close it's moth and had now deformencies? i looked at the recite and it said said parrot fish??? when i bought my last BPs they were both under the name blood parrot??? is there a real difference between the two? they seem to be fine now?

I just wanted to tell everyone how my parrots behaved from day 1 to 10 in my 30 gall tank.

Day 1 to 3 - One parrot (the bigger one) took over the cave in the tank and always used to be hiding inside it. It used to come out only to bully the smaller parrot.

Day 4 to 8 - I introduced a pair of cory fish and a single albino shark. They worked as the best tankmates. The parrots still seem to behave the same way as mentioned above.

I just read on another side that the size of these cichlids is about 8 inches but I read somewhere else that they can grow to 14 inches.What is their biggest size?
