Shyness, Hiding

TO BIG TO HIDE

I have a big five inch plus orange jellybean parrot cichlid in a thirty gallon long tank with one rainbow shark and one common pleco. I now this is small but the aquarium is on the second floor . Anyway my parrot cichlid has always liked to hide but is now to big. I bout a cool cave at petsmart yesterday but the cave is to small. I have driftwood a log cave for my shark and a rock formation thing for my pleco but the my parrot cichlid named fred has none any advice on parrot cichlid decor thanks FREDDYBOY?

BFF's 4ever hiding w/ oscar

My BP Bubbles never used to hide. I just moved her and my Oscar into a 40gal tank (a lil small but better than the one they were in 20gal) and the Oscar has been hiding. Oscar and bubbles were raised together and they have formed a special bond I have never seen tow different spices of cichlids act this way. Any way bubbles has always followed the Oscar around and she has been hiding with him since the move. The Oscar is acting negatively to change (typical of the breed) but he is becoming less shy. Any one know why they are so close I did not think this was possible.

Shy parrots???

My parrots were very active but have now started to try and hide behind my filter and the one of the big rock that I have in their tank. Is it normal for them to do that or is something wrong? They come to eat and that is all.

I have 4 Parrot Cichlid

When I bought the trio of 4 they were pretty small I put them in a 55 gal tank with a white catfish and a few algae eaters and some small fish that I had had like 2 yrs, I had a lot of hiding places for them several caves and large rocks a lot of plastic greenery that went all the way to the top. I noticed they eat a lot more than regular fish and I knew nothing about them so I went to thew Internet and quickly found out they eat alot and grow fast. I call them my gentle giants of the aquarium.

I have had my parrots for 2 months now and they are still hiding!!! HELP!!!

They act like they are scared to death of us!!! They had a rock that you can go through in their tank, they always hid in it. So I recently took it out. I also bought some dether fish. I got 2 bala sharks. It hasnt helped at all.

Odd behavior?

I'm a new own of these fish. I have had them about about a week now and was wondering if it is common for them to constantly hide all day and night. It's to the point where they don't eat. I'm starting to get worried and am somewhat regretting I got them. Any advice to ease my mind?

typical behaviour?

I'm a relative newcomer to parrots but from what I've observed in my own tank and seeing the fish in pet stores, I'd think that " lying around" in different postures, including upside down, in plants and on the bottom was typical behaviour for these guys. I've thought one dead, only to see it swimming around happily when I looked next time. mine spend most of their time not moving-

Please help me

I have six parrots. They are hiding from last couple of weeks.
I tried so many things. Some people told me i should use dither fish.
I bought 2 barb and put into it. Within one hour parrot fishes killed the Barb fishes.
Please help me they are still hiding.

JOVIAL IS ACTING ANYTHING BUT JOVIAL!!!! HELP!!!

I bought my first Blood Parrot Cichlid yesterday and have already hit some road blocks. I woke up this morning to find Jovial hiding behind one of his houses, he was/is leaning to one side and I swear he was dead. But he has since moved and is still kinda leaning to one side. Is this normal Parrot behavior?
